Steelworkers Pilgrimage Cycling Tour Follow Up 1/2 Day Ride.

Ride with us to Steelworkers Park to explore the park and surrounding area. Point’s of interests include The Ore Wall, Southside Velodrome, St. Michael the Archangel, Ewing Avenue Bridge, and The Tomb of Andreas von Zirngibl (We have been granted permission by the owners of the decommissioned recycling yard where this tomb located to get up close to the smallest cemetery in Chicago. We will also stop off at Calumet Fisheries (Where the Blues Brothers Jumped the Bridge) for lunch before our return ride. Note: The vintage photo I used for this tour is what the area once looked like during the peak of U.S. Steel South Works Plant’s operation.
