Bryson City, NC – just an hour west of Asheville and three hours north of Atlanta, this quaint mountain town provides a perfect setting for yet, another great Cycle North Carolina Mountain Ride weekend.
Join us August 5 & 6 for a weekend full of amazing road biking and endless opportunities to “play outside.” Go whitewater rafting on the Nantahala River, mountain biking at Tsali Recreation Park, fly through the treetops at some of the areas famous zip-line canopy tours, take a ride on the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad or hike to some of the most pristine waterfalls in Western North Carolina.
The Bryson City area will provide you with a variety of cycling options, unique experiences, and some of the most spectacular mountain views in North Carolina. The routes are a perfect fit for road bikes as well as most tandems, trikes and hybrids and are suitable for intermediate to experienced cyclists. If you are feeling adventurous, some routes even include gravel grinder sections as well as a scenic train ride to the start point. If you just want to come up for the weekend and ride some mountain bike trails, but still participate in all the Mountain Ride activities, meals, socials, etc., then we’ve got an option for you.
Downtown Bryson City and the Swain County Recreation Park will be the entertainment hub for the weekend with a wide variety of activities planned while in town. Live music, beverage gardens, paddle trips, train rides, mountain bike group rides and much more will be available.
Friday night will feature the CNC Mountain Ride Kick-Off Event with an official welcome from the Ride Director and local town officials. It’s a perfect time to gather for some fun, cheers and local brews. On Saturday night, join us for the CNC Mountain Ride Social, which is a free event for all registered participants and offers an evening filled with a great food, local music and a picturesque mountain sunset.
