What makes Cycle Zydeco, this early season ride unique? It’s a combination ride and festival in one event. The organizers call it a festival on wheels. The weather is perfect ranging from 60 degrees to the low 80s, the roads are flat so no struggles early in the season, it’s easy to get to; only a 1:20 drive from Baton Rouge, and 3 hours from Houston, and once again, it’s a big party!
Cycle Zydeco runs the same time as the Festival International de Louisiane with 5 days of music and food, and the New Iberia Spanish Festival which includes a 5k and 1 mile fun run, an arts and crafts show, the Paella Tapas and Jambalaya Cook-Off, and of course a day of the riding where you can “earn” your meal.

Cycle Zydeco is organized by Transportation Recreation Alternatives in Louisiana. TRAIL’s primary mission is to build recreational facilities from bike lanes and paths to paddle trails and trail heads with maps for all to enjoy. This work is done in partnership with government agencies, individuals and NGOs.
