These are all valid reasons, especially when talking about riding at night. I’m talking primarily about fatbike riding which keeps you off the roads and away from cars that aren’t expecting you in the winter. Riding in the woods also keeps you out of the wind. The trails take on a completely different look. We ride with studded tires for safety and more confidence.
