For years, I’ve been placing my phone, credit cards, license and cash in baggies. My bike bag always has a few used baggies I’ve but don’t want to throw out because I think I’ll use them again; but I wonder, do they have a hole, will they leak – I end up getting a new baggie.
I recently discovered Bellroy, the cool Australian company that offers a high quality solution that is nice enough to be used as a combination wallet and phone case. The one they kindly sent me is for an iPhone, but they offer a variety of sizes and options including Elements Travel which carries a passport, credits cards and cash.
Even the packaging it comes in is unique. Look at the patterned liner! And as far quality goes, just check out the Live Life Outside section of their site: http://bellroy.com/live-life-outside
The Elements Phone Pocket fits my iPhone 6, comes with a water resistant YKK zipper, smells like leather (even thought it’s treated to protect your phone from all weather conditions) has pockets on either side, and is not very thick. My phone has the Apple case and still easily fits inside the Elements case – in between the credit card slots, the slot I used for my driver’s license, and the cash pocket. It also comes in 3 colors.
I tested it on 3/28/15 at the Barry Roubaix Killer Gravel Road Race in Hastings Michigan. For me it was riding 36 miles of gravel, hills, and dirt roads at 20 degrees with thousands of my closest friends. 3,000 rode 25/36/63 mile courses. It was so dirty that my gears started jamming up halfway though the race. Everything was well protected but even better, no more baggies, and I could keep using the Elements case after the race as a combination wallet and phone holder, it’s that nice.

While $99.95 isn’t inexpensive, neither are most phones, and the quality of the material and engineering of this case make it well worth the money in my opinion.
I’m a fan, and so are my riding friends who saw it for the first time. Have questions or comments, shoot me an email. Thanks Bellroy!
